The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has introduced a new toll-free short-code hotline, 3367. This hotline aims to boost emergency response, enhance traffic management, and promote accountability across Lagos State.

The agency explained that this new platform replaces the old long-service code. Now, residents can report traffic-related incidents without any charges.

In a statement released on Sunday, Adebayo Taofiq, the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, said the hotline is available to users on MTN, 9mobile (Etisalat), and Glo networks.

According to the agency, people can use the 3367 hotline to report vehicle breakdowns, road crashes, stuck articulated vehicles, stranded tankers, traffic blockages, and other emergencies that need quick help.

Public Reporting and Feedback

LASTMA also mentioned that the hotline allows the public to report the behavior and professionalism of its staff. This move is part of efforts to boost transparency, accountability, and service delivery.

Callers can speak with hotline operators in English, Yoruba, or Pidgin English. This is to make sure more people can participate and there are no language barriers during emergencies.

LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, called this initiative a big step forward for road safety. He said it uses technology to improve traffic management in the state.

He stated that the hotline shows the agency's promise to create a more responsive and technology-based traffic management system for the citizens.

“The launch of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline is another big step towards making a safer, more efficient, and very responsive transportation system across Lagos State.

“It gives residents a direct, easy, and cost-free way to report incidents that need urgent attention,” Bakare-Oki said.

He pointed out that Lagos is growing fast and has complex traffic issues. Therefore, a proactive and tech-enabled traffic management system is needed to respond quickly to new transportation challenges.

Bakare-Oki assured residents that reports made through the hotline would be handled carefully and professionally. The reports will be kept confidential and sent to the right operational units for quick action.

He encouraged the public to use the hotline to improve road safety, boost accountability, and support efforts to create a safer and more efficient transportation system in the state.
