The Magistrate Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, on Wednesday sent 46-year-old Owolabi Olayinka and 53-year-old Abiodun Fatokun to the Ibara Correctional Centre. This is pending the fulfillment of their bail conditions after they faced a four-count charge related to land grabbing, damaging a fence worth over N3.5 million, and causing a disturbance.

Olayinka, Fatokun, and others who are still not caught are said to have committed these crimes on April 15, 2026, at Kondo Village, Ile Ise Panu, Abeokuta.

The Ogun State Police Command brought the pair to court in a case marked MA/50/2026.

The charge sheet states: β€œThat you, Owolabi Olayinka β€˜m’, Abiodun Oluwasegun Fatokun β€˜m’, and others at large, on 15th April, 2026, at 1200hrs at Kondo Village, Ile-Ise Panu area, Abeokuta, in the Abeokuta Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony, to wit: forcible entry, malicious damage, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2016.”

β€œThat you, Owolabi Olayinka β€˜m’, Abiodun Oluwasegun Fatokun β€˜m’, and others at large, on the same date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did forcibly enter the landed property of one Oluwafemi Folarin β€˜m’ in order to forcefully take over his property and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 81 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.”

β€œThat you, Owolabi Olayinka β€˜m’, Abiodun Oluwasegun Fatokun β€˜m’, and others at large, on the same date and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did unlawfully damage the fence valued at N3,500,000.00, the property of one Oluwafemi Folarin β€˜m’, and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.”

β€œThat you, Owolabi Olayinka β€˜m’, Abiodun Oluwasegun Fatokun β€˜m’, and others at large, on the same date, place, and time above in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by bringing hoodlums to Kondo Village to disturb the peace of the community and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 249(D) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2006.”

Olayinka and Fatokun pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Their lawyer asked the court to grant them bail, promising that they would not escape and would always show up for court.

Magistrate Adejoke Araba then granted them bail of N1 million each with two sureties.

She said one surety must be a licensed bondsman, and the other must be a family member living nearby with proof of tax payments to Ogun State Government for three years.

The magistrate ordered that the defendants remain at Ibara Correctional Centre until their bail conditions are met.

The case was adjourned to July 28, 2026, for trial.
