The Lagos Golden Heart Lions Club has donated N5m to the Pediatric Cancer Ward of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.

The donation, according to a Sunday statement, is part of the club’s community project for the 2024/2025 Lions year.

The event, which took place on Saturday, began with a call to action, as the club urged well-to-do Nigerians to support the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society.

The President of the club, Godfrey Gimoh, emphasised the importance of giving, stating that it provides succour to those in need.
This donation demonstrates the Lagos Golden Heart Lions Club’s commitment to serving its community and making a positive impact on the lives of those in need,” the statement said.

The District Governor 404B4 Nigeria, Taiwo Fatoki, also reminded the gathering of the eight core projects of Lions Club International, which included pediatric cancer awareness.

He encouraged club members to uphold the values and expressed hope that the beneficiaries would appreciate the Lions’ gesture.

The Consultant and Neurosurgeon at LASUTH, Dr. Ayodele Babadele, lauded the club for their kindness and repeated generosity to the Pediatric Cancer Ward. The donated funds will be used to support cancer patients who cannot afford their medical bills.
