The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, has hailed the police officers, especially those deployed for the just-concluded political parties’ governorship primary elections on Saturday.

Orutugu commended the officers in a press statement issued by the spokesman for the command, Tochukwu Ikenga, on Sunday.

He reminded the officers that there was still much work to be done to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, particularly during the campaigns and the main elections.

The statement read, “The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, commended the officers of the Anambra State Police Command, especially those deployed to the just concluded national assignment involving the process of electing flag bearers for governorship of respective political parties in the State.

He noted that there is still much work to be done to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, particularly during the campaigns and the main elections.

“The CP highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism in law enforcement, especially during the sensitive and high-stakes event, urged continued excellence among officers in the performance of their duties.

“The command is firm and reiterates its commitment to providing a secure environment for Ndi Anambra and all political actors, while remaining professional and apolitical in the discharge of its responsibilities.”
