The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele on Friday called on President Bola Tinubu to address the issue of insecurity in the country.

Primate Ayodele made it known that insecurity is getting out of hand, adding that Tinubu should remove any inactive Service Chief if it would curb the menace.

In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet stated that security operatives are meant to be defending citizens, but they are not doing so adequately, thereby, exposing Nigerians to danger.


The prophet noted that the issue is taking too long to resolve. Although he acknowledged that insecurity is in every nation, he observed that Nigeria’s case is getting unnecessarily too much.

The cleric said: “Our security operatives and service chiefs are not doing the needful to curb insecurity in the country. Let us take this security issue seriously. It’s unfortunate that Nigerians can’t defend themselves, meanwhile, those who have the guns are not doing it enough.

“The security matter is taking too long to be solved, it’s getting worse under the control of the Chief of Army staff and Chief of Defense staff. There are terrorists everywhere, but this one is getting out of hand. Our soldiers are being killed.”

Primate Ayodele made it known that if the right efforts are put into curbing insecurity in the country, it won’t take so much time, but the government and everyone involved prefer to allow innocent soldiers to die on the battlefield because they are not adequately provided for.

“Boko Haram and other bandits are not spirits, they are humans. Let them sophisticate our weapons and build a tower. Our soldiers are capable, but something isn’t going right. We are supposed to put more money into financing these soldiers who are fighting, but no one is even talking for them, yet they are being killed daily.”

He advised President Tinubu not to allow the issue to escalate beyond necessary, while also clamouring for changes in the soldiers on the field to preserve the troops.

“If anyone has not done well, let them be changed. Some have been fighting in the bush for years, let them be changed and replaced with fresh people. It’s not hard to curb insecurity, but our government and military leaders are not ready.

“We don’t want this to escalate to other places because if it does, it will be something else. Let them do the needful for the country to be secured,” he added.
