A heated debate has erupted between the Jigawa State chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party and supporters of the All Progressives Congress over a Facebook post by a prominent PDP stalwart, Umar Danjani.

The debate sparked by Danjani’s post highlights the growing tension between the PDP and the APC in Jigawa State.

The bickering comes as the political atmosphere in the country intensifies ahead of the 2027 general election.

With both parties gearing up for a fierce contest, tensions are running high, and exchanges like these are becoming increasingly common.

As the campaign era draws nearer, both PDP and APC will need to navigate the complex landscape of Nigerian politics as the stakes are high, and parties deploy the use of varied strategies in their campaigns to win over voters.

In the post, on Saturday, made in Hausa language, on his personal Facebook account bearing his name, Danjani said, “In har kaga lafiyayyen mutum a wannan yanayin yana tallan APC ko zai dangwalawa APC ƙuri’a, da alamu asiri aka yi masa,” which translates to “If you see a healthy person in this situation canvassing for APC or he will vote for APC, it is obvious that he has been charmed.”

The post drew attention from Danjani’s followers, including PDP and APC supporters, who made varied comments on his timeline.

Many PDP supporters echoed Danjani’s sentiment, while APC supporters rejected the claim, citing varied reasons.
