The Ovie of Ughelli kingdom, the headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, His Majesty, Evang. Wilson Ojakovo Oharisi III has charged residents of the kingdom to remain law-abiding and shun all forms of criminal activities.

The monarch gave the charge on the occasion of his 33rd coronation anniversary during which Ughelli’s newly-constructed ultra-modern palace and royal chapel were formally inaugurated.

The chapel was officially dedicated by the Archbishop of Bendel and Bishop of Ughelli Diocese, the Most Rev. Cyril Odutemu, alongside other senior clergymen.

The event, which also coincided with the king’s birthday celebration attracted over 20 traditional rulers from different ethnic groups across Delta State.

Speaking during the festivities, the monarch described the new palace project, construction of which began 18 years ago, as “a journey of perseverance and divine grace.”
He noted that the dedication of the royal Palace Chapel “is a reaffirmation that the Ughelli kingdom has long been committed to God.”

The monarch said, “By the grace of God, I am very grateful and happy.

“It has not been easy, but with the support of my people and fellow traditional rulers, we achieved this milestone.”

Commenting specifically on the significance of April 20, the exact date he ascended the throne 33 years ago, the monarch stated that “it was a perfect day to celebrate despite calls for postponement.”
