The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has inaugurated a dedicated medical screening team to ensure the health and well-being of intending pilgrims ahead of the 2025 Hajj exercise.

The ceremony, held at the agency’s headquarters in Sokoto, marked a significant step in the state’s preparations for a successful Hajj operation.

According to a statement made available by the Head of Information and Communication of the agency, Faruku Umar, said “the Chairman of the Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, described the assignment as a sacred trust and urged members of the screening team to discharge their duties with sincerity, patience, and commitment”

The statement further said the acting Executive Secretary, Alhaji Ladan Ibrahim, reiterated the agency’s priority to safeguard the welfare of Sokoto pilgrims, while Director of Operations, Alhaji Abubakar Chika, reminded the medical team of their responsibility to serve with diligence and the fear of Allah.

Dr. Bello Attahiru, who leads the screening team, assured all that the team is fully prepared to offer quality care and medical support throughout the Hajj preparations.

The screening is set to begin on Saturday, starting with intending pilgrims from Wamakko and Silame Local Government Areas.
