Martin Keown, a former Arsenal player, has urged Manchester United to replace current manager Ruben Amorim with former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Keown explained that Klopp has more experience compared to Amorim and will do an incredible job than the Portuguese at Man United.

Amorim’s side finished trophyless last season, losing the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur and also finishing in the second half of the Premier League table.


“I am still concerned that maybe he [Ruben Amorim] isn’t the right manager for Manchester United,” Keown said on talkSPORT.

“Just look at the number of games they have lost [under Amorim last season].

“It is going to be a very interesting start to next season for Manchester United but they could do a lot worse than go and get Jurgen Klopp to manage their football club.

“I believe Klopp could do an incredible job at Manchester United and they need somebody with more experience than the current manager [Amorim].”

He added: “Why not [get Klopp]. He’s done a rebuilding job before [at Liverpool].”

Klopp is currently without a club after leaving Liverpool before the start of the 2024/25 season.
