The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II on Saturday urged Muslims to reflect on the tenets of Islam in the Holy Quran as they celebrate the Eid-el-kabir.

In a statement by the monarch’s Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the Oba tasked the Muslim faithful not to forget the lessons of Eid-el-kabir.

He urged them to prioritise the concept of sacrifice and devotion to charity toward one another, while praying to the Almighty God for peace in Nigeria.

The statement read, “His royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin felicitates Muslim faithful across Nigeria on this year’s Eid-el-kabir festival.
“The traditional ruler charges Muslims to reflect on tenets of Islam in the Holy Qur’an during their act of worship at the festival, known as the feast of sacrifice in Islam.

“Oba Ewuare II, prays to Almighty God and his ancestors to grant the nation’s leaders good health, peace, wisdom and progress during this moment of celebration.

“The royal father tasked the Muslim faithful not to forget the lessons of Eid-el-kabir by prioritizing the concept of sacrifice and devotion to charity toward one another, while praying to Almighty God for peace in our dear country, Nigeria,” the statement noted.
