Three people who were abducted along the Guzape–Abacha Barracks bypass in Abuja have been released after local vigilantes and community-based security groups engaged in rescue action.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims – Ibrahim Mohammed, Sylvester Danjuma, and Cynthia John – were freed late on Monday night at about 11:00 PM around the Waru-Wasa Forest, some days after they were taken.

The victims went missing on June 22 after two abandoned Toyota Corolla cars were found along the bypass, indicating that those inside may have been kidnapped.

In response, a coordinated operation involving security personnel and residents was launched across nearby communities and forest zones to trace the missing individuals.

Eyewitnesses and family members confirmed the return of the three kidnapped individuals who reportedly returned unharmed and were reunited with their families.

Authorities stated that investigations are ongoing to track down the kidnappers and establish the circumstances surrounding the abduction.
