The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has arrested 56 suspects during coordinated night raids on identified black spots and criminal hideouts across Abuja.

The operation, which took place late Wednesday night, was carried out by operatives from Karmo, Kabusa, Apo, Nyanya, Karshi, and Kubwa divisions.

According to a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X, the operation began around 11:40 p.m. and targeted uncompleted buildings, isolated areas, and other locations notorious for criminal activity.

Items recovered during the operation included a dagger and dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

The suspects are currently undergoing screening and interrogation at their respective divisional offices. Police authorities stated that those found culpable will be prosecuted, while others will be released if found innocent.

The police say the raids are part of ongoing efforts to flush out criminal elements and enhance public safety across the FCT.
