Residents of Omi-Adio, Ido Local Government Area, Oyo State, have called on President Bola Tinubu and Governor Seyi Makinde to rehabilitate and equip the Baptist Cottage Hospital, which has fallen into disrepair.

A statement issued by a youth leader in the area, Adebola David, lamented the hardship residents face due to the lack of a functional healthcare facility.

“We, the people of Omi-Adio, are currently facing numerous challenges, ranging from healthcare issues to the lack of potable water. We are particularly tired of trekking long distances to access medical care at private hospitals with exorbitant charges,” David said.

He explained that many residents had resorted to herbal remedies because they could not afford private hospital bills, leading to tragic consequences.

“Lack of a functioning hospital has led to the untimely death of our children, young ones, and adults. We are just tired of this. The government should please help us,” he pleaded.

David also reminded President Tinubu of the community hospital’s significance, stating that it was originally inaugurated when Tinubu was a Senator in Lagos State.

“We are appealing to him to help us restore it with drugs, bed spaces, a gynecologist, and other necessary hospital equipment. Posterity will never forget them, and we will remain grateful,” he added.
