The United States of America, Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, has exposed $4.7 trillion in untraceable payments in the US Treasury Department.

DOGE, led by billionaire Elon Musk, disclosed this in a statement on its official X account on Monday.

According to the President Donald Trump-backed agency, Treasury Access Symbol field was optional for $4.7 payments in the US Treasury Department.


It explained that without TAS, making payment traceability almost impossible.

DOGE, however, noted that upon its intervention at the weekend, the TAS field is required in payment at the Treasury Department.

“The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process).

“In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going,” his statement reads.

DAILY POST reports that DOGE has investigated multiple federal agencies, including the United States International Development Agency, Defence, Education, Health, and Agriculture, to cut the cost of governance since the emergence of Trump.
