The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State has arrested suspected arms couriers attempting to transport live ammunition to bandits.

The suspects, who tried to evade security checks, were caught with a hidden cache of live rounds concealed in their vehicle.

The bust is part of intensified efforts to disrupt arms and illicit substance supplies to criminal networks in the region.
A ecurity source revealed that the suspects had planned to deliver the ammunition to armed groups terrorizing parts of Zamfara.

“This operation is part of our ongoing crackdown on criminal logistics chains aiding insecurity in the state,” the official stated.

Authorities have launched further investigations to uncover the full network behind the smuggling operation.
