Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered himself to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this development on Wednesday.

“Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up,” Hundeyin stated.

The singer has been in the news recently for various controversies, including his claim of undergoing psychiatric treatment in Ogun State. The police, however, dismissed his statement, insisting that he remained wanted for an ongoing investigation.

His claim of undergoing psychiatric treatment came after the Ogun State police command declared him wanted following an attack on officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The officials of the Ogun State government were attacked at Odogwu Bar while conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
