Hamas has claimed that the remains of Israeli hostage, Shiri Bibas were mixed with other human remains in the rubble following an Israeli airstrike on the location where she was allegedly being held.

Hamas official Ismail al-Thawabteh stated that Bibas’s body was “turned into pieces after apparently being mixed with other bodies under the rubble,” repeating the group’s assertion that Israel was responsible for her death.

For the past year, Hamas has maintained that Bibas and her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, were killed in an Israeli airstrike.
However, Israeli officials announced overnight that the remains of Ariel and Kfir had been positively identified and confirmed that the children were murdered by their captors while in captivity.

The remains that Hamas handed over in a coffin labeled with Bibas’s face were later identified by Israeli authorities as belonging to an unidentified Gazan woman, not Bibas.

Forensic experts at Abu Kabir conducted multiple examinations, including DNA testing and determined that the remains did not match Bibas or any other female hostages still held by Hamas.
