ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Police, and Department of State Services (DSS), to be on high alert over an alleged plan by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters to stage a protest in Abuja on Tuesday.

According to Edo APC Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, the planned demonstration aims to disrupt proceedings at the Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and influence the judicial process in favor of PDP governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, Tenebe warned that the PDP and its supporters are planning to besiege the Attorney General’s office to exert pressure regarding the ongoing tribunal case.

He urged security agencies to remain vigilant and prevent any attempt to compromise the judicial process or cause disturbances in the city.

The PDP and Ighodalo are currently challenging the victory of APC’s Senator Monday Okpebholo, who was declared winner of the September 21 governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Tenebe cautioned that any disruption linked to the planned protest should be taken seriously, urging authorities to hold the organizers accountable for their actions.
