His Royal Highness, Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has appointed Malam Zakiyyu Mukhtar as the new village head of Sauna in Gabasawa Local Government Area.

The appointment recognizes Mukhtar’s integrity and dedication to his community.

The Emir made the announcement during the official turbaning ceremony held at the palace on Tuesday.


He urged the new village head to take a firm stand against criminal elements and to combat drug abuse within the community.

In his remarks shortly after his appointment, Malam Zakiyyu Mukhtar expressed his gratitude and pledged to work diligently for the progress of the area.

The appointment was witnessed by a large number of residents from Sauna who accompanied the new village head to the Emir’s palace in a show of support.
