President Donald Trump has revealed why the United States has to protect its close ally, Japan.

Trump told journalists at the Oval Office late Thursday that with Japan, the United States has a “deal, which is a very interesting one”.

He noted that though US has to protect them, “they don’t have to protect us”. “Did you know that? That’s the way the deal reads,” he added.


President Trump further claimed that the East Asian country “makes a fortune” out of the United States economically.

“We have to protect Japan and, by the way, they make a fortune out of us economically.

“We have to protect Japan, but under no circumstances do they have to protect us,” Trump stressed.
