The Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed that pilgrims from the state will be among the last batch to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj.

This was disclosed by the Executive Director of the board, Alhaji Yunusa Dankama, during a meeting with board members, including the Chairman, directors, and other officials, on Thursday in Katsina.

According to a statement by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Badaru Karofi, on Friday, Dankama provided updates on the state’s preparations and progress regarding the pilgrimage.


“On the issue of the airlift schedule, Katsina State pilgrims will be the last batch to be transported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he stated.

Dankama also revealed that out of the 3,680 Hajj seats allocated to the state by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), approximately 1,850 intending pilgrims have already paid their fares.

He further informed the board members of a recent meeting with NAHCON, where it was confirmed that Max Air Airlines Limited would handle the transportation of Katsina pilgrims.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Mallam Dikko Umar Radda for his support, Dankama assured that all necessary arrangements were being made for a smooth and successful Hajj operation.

The Board Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Alhazai, represented by Alhaji Ahmed Radda, urged all officials to remain committed to ensuring a seamless experience for pilgrims.
