Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Tuesday, flagged off the distribution of 25,000 bags of 10kg rice donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation to indigent residents across the state’s 16 local government areas.

Speaking at the event in Ilorin, the state capital, AbdulRazaq, who was represented by Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi, commended the Foundation for its humanitarian efforts, describing the donation as a significant example of private-public sector collaboration in addressing hardship.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Modupe Joel.

“This gesture not only complements the ongoing efforts of the Kwara State Government to support vulnerable communities, but it also demonstrates the power of partnership between the public and private sectors in lifting our people out of hardship,” AbdulRazaq said.

He added that the donation was particularly timely, given that Muslims were observing Ramadan and Christians were in the Lenten season.

The Leader of the Dangote Foundation delegation and Group General Manager (Human Resources) of Dangote Cement Plc, Ahmed Gobir, said the Foundation is distributing one million bags of rice across Nigeria, with 25,000 allocated to Kwara State.
