A total of 933 members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps have finished their one-year national service in Anambra State. Nine others will repeat the service after leaving without notice.
The NYSC also mentioned that two corps members had their service year extended due to disciplinary issues. Five others were kept by their employers because of their great performance.
Pauline Ojisua, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, shared this information on Thursday during the passing-out ceremony held at the same time across the 21 local government areas in the state.
While speaking at the ceremony in Ihiala Local Government Area, Ojisua congratulated the corps members. She urged them to look towards entrepreneurship instead of just waiting for office jobs.
She encouraged them to use the skills they learned in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme to create lasting livelihoods.
“Today, you are officially released from the National Youth Service Corps after successfully completing your one-year mandatory service. We pray for safe travels and God’s protection as you go back to your homes to start a new chapter in your lives.
“We also urged you to stay productive by getting involved in meaningful activities that can help you build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to national progress.
“You should also consider joining the NYSC Foundation to keep your connection with the Scheme and continue to support its goals,” she said.
The coordinator reminded the departing corps members to join the NYSC Foundation to keep their relationship with the scheme strong.
She noted that 933 corps members received their Certificates of National Service. Nine who left service without notice will have to repeat the entire service year as stated in the NYSC bye-laws.
“Records show that 933 corps members were given Certificates of National Service, while nine corps members who left without notice will repeat the service year according to the NYSC bye-laws,” the coordinator explained.
Ojisua added that two corps members had their service extended for disciplinary reasons, while five were retained by their employers due to their outstanding work during the service year.
