The General Manager of Fresh FM Lagos, Taiwo Akinsola, also known as Omobabaolowo Woli ni Ilasamaja, has praised the Ogun State Police Command for rescuing 18 National Youth Service Corps members. They were stranded at night after their vehicle broke down in a well-known dangerous part of the state.
In a letter of thanks to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, shared with journalists on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, Akinsola said the corps members were saved on June 30. Their vehicle had a fault in an area known for kidnappings and other crimes.
He explained that the corps members reached out to the police for help after they found themselves in a risky situation. “The Corps Members were stranded at night at a notorious black spot in Ogun State after their vehicle broke down. The location is widely known as a hotspot for kidnappers and criminal activity. In that moment of fear and vulnerability, they called for help,” he said.
Akinsola appreciated the police for acting quickly to their call for help. “We are deeply appreciative that the Ogun State Police Command, under CP Bode Ojajuni, responded promptly to the distress call. Your officers arrived without delay, secured the scene, and ensured the safe evacuation of all 18 Corps Members to Ijebu Ode and lodged them in a hotel.
“Their professionalism, courage and vigilance saved lives that night and prevented what could have been a tragic incident nationally,” he added.
He noted that this response was more than just normal police work. “This act of service goes beyond duty. It demonstrates the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force under your leadership to protect lives and property, even in the most dangerous hours. The Corps Members and their families are forever grateful,” he said.
Akinsola also praised the Divisional Police Officer and the patrol team that took part in the rescue. “We commend you, the DPO of the division, and the patrol team who acted decisively. Your quick intervention has restored public confidence and shown that help is indeed available when needed,” he stated.
He prayed for the continued protection and strength of the police personnel as they carry out their duties across Ogun State.
