Members of the All Progressives Congress Delta Mandate have shown their support for President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
On Thursday, Isaac Anwuzia, the National President of the group, released a statement praising what he called their effective and transformative leadership.
The vote of confidence happened during a meeting at the home of Ferguson Onwo, who represents Isoko South Constituency II in the Delta State House of Assembly. The meeting took place in Asaba.
Emmanuel Okoro, the first Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, moved the motion. Onwo seconded it, and the members passed it through a voice vote led by Anwuzia.
Anwuzia encouraged party members to ramp up grassroots support and strengthen backing for all APC candidates as the 2027 general elections approach. He called Delta APC Mandate a strong political group focused on improving the party's position in the state.
“Our message is one party, one mobilisation and one goal, which is to win for the APC across Delta State,” Anwuzia said. He urged members to stay united and work towards re-electing President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, as well as achieving success for other APC candidates. He added that winning elections would bring more chances for party members.
The Delta State APC Chairman, Solomon Areyenka, also spoke. He praised the members for showcasing the successes of both the Tinubu administration and the Oborevwori government. He urged them to keep up their efforts and work hard for the party's success in future elections.
Ndudi Elumelu, the APC House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, called on members to come together and promote peace within the party. He said unity is key to strengthening the achievements of both the Federal and Delta State governments.
“We are happy and grateful to the governor. He is a man we are proud of, and we are ready to tell the world that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is a good product,” Elumelu said. He also warned against actions that could harm the party, saying that political appointees, elected officials, and council chairmen should stay loyal to the APC.
He stressed that those with government jobs should not work against the party during the elections. Elumelu also called for the state APC leadership to hold a meeting of government appointees and elected officials to reinforce loyalty and discipline in the party.
Additionally, he asked aspirants and party supporters to promote reconciliation, pointing out that not everyone aiming for an elective position can be the party's candidate.
Other speakers, including Lawrence Osiegbu, Patrick Ukah, Solomon Funkekeme, and Rosaline Amioku, commented on what they saw as the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. They also called for more grassroots mobilization and greater involvement of young people in the party's activities.
