Political economist and former presidential candidate, Prof. Pat Utomi, has said that the recent Osun State governorship election showed that "evil has an expiry date."
Utomi shared his thoughts on X on Tuesday. He said the election results also proved that even the "unworthy" can help stop what he called "the train."
"If Osun elections proved a point, it is that evil has an expiry date and that even the unworthy can be used to stop the train," he wrote.
He went on to say that the election strengthened his view that righteousness is key to national progress.
"Righteousness does indeed exalt a nation and its opposite is a reproach to any people," Utomi said.
Critique of Defecting Governors
The political economist also criticized governors who switched parties during the election. He called their actions one of the biggest shames linked to the Osun election.
"The biggest shame of Osun were the ‘defecting’ Governors who left town in the cover of darkness like rain-drenched hens," he wrote.
Utomi accused these governors of betraying the people. He believes they will face consequences for their actions.
"Judgement for betrayal of the people still awaits them," he added.
