The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement in the Southwest will kick off its campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election on Wednesday. They plan a 3,000-person Posterity Walk in Lagos ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The walk will start at the Lagos Television premises in Agidingbi, Ikeja. It aims to gather supporters, stakeholders, and residents from all over the Southwest. This is part of the group’s effort to mobilize grassroots support for Tinubu’s second term.

Awoyinfa Opeoluwa, the Zonal Secretary of the movement, released a statement on Tuesday. He said the event is meant to show support for the President and mobilize voters across the region before the presidential election.

“We are excited to announce the official flag-off of our campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general election.

“As we gear up for this critical electoral period, we are committed to mobilising support and ensuring that the vision and progress initiated by President Tinubu continue to flourish,” the statement said in part.

The group noted that the Posterity Walk would be a public show of their commitment to Tinubu’s government. They want to build a stronger support base across the six states of the Southwest.

“The Posterity Walk symbolises our unity and determination to support a leader who has consistently prioritised the welfare and development of our nation.

“Together, we will march in solidarity, showcasing our unwavering belief in President Tinubu’s ability to lead Nigeria into a prosperous future,” it added.

Participants are encouraged to come with banners and posters. The movement wants to highlight what they call the administration’s efforts toward economic growth, good governance, and national unity.

This mobilization comes as political activities heat up for the 2027 general elections. Parties, support groups, and political organizations across the country are getting ready for the presidential race.

Tinubu was elected President in 2023 under the All Progressives Congress. He is now looking for a second four-year term in 2027.

His administration has faced criticism from opposition parties and some members of the public. They point to economic hardship, rising inflation, and the effects of reforms. Supporters, however, argue that these reforms are needed to set the economy up for long-term growth.

The Southwest is crucial for Tinubu, who hails from Lagos State. He has kept a strong political presence in the region.

The PBAT Door-To-Door Movement said Wednesday’s walk would start a sustained grassroots mobilization campaign. They called on supporters to take part actively in securing Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
