Governor Uba Sani has ended a 20-year wait in Jaba local government by opening five township roads in Kwoi, the headquarters of the Area Council.
The governor remembered when he held the ground-breaking ceremony last September. He promised that this project would not just be another empty promise.
‘’By the grace of God and through the hard work of our team, we have come to fulfill that promise. Nothing brings a government and its people closer than promises kept,’’ he said.
Last Tuesday, Governor Sani opened Audu Tilo Road, Sabon Gari Road, Doctor Sani Road, Hospital Road, and Kpop Ham Palace Road, along with the important Kwoi, Gora Road.
The governor expressed sadness that ‘’for over two decades, Jaba Local Government Area did not see the completion of a single kilometre of road.
‘’It was one of the 12 Local Governments that were ignored when it came to road construction. This unfairness goes against the principles of justice and fairness that are needed for real development,’’ he explained.
Governor Sani said his government is committed to changing this situation. He added that they have ‘’pursued a plan to build infrastructure that ensures development touches every part of Kaduna State.’’
‘’In our twenty-three Local Government Areas, we have started 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometres, with most of them already finished,’’ he shared.
Mr Sani also said that ‘’these projects mean more than just roads; they are lasting signs of our determination to make sure every community benefits from democratic governance.’’
He believes that ‘’government should not be based on geography, politics, or identity, but on fairness in sharing opportunities and public funding.’’
Governor Sani reminded everyone that the Kwoi township roads and the Kwoi-Gora road are important investments for the economic and social life of the Jaba community.
‘’They will make it easier to move around Kwoi, help people get to schools and healthcare, boost business activities, and make transportation easier for farmers and traders,’’ he added.
The governor also noted that the Kwoi, Gora Road ‘’used to be a source of great hardship, especially during the rainy season when bad road conditions made movement difficult, isolated communities, raised transportation costs, and limited access to essential services.’’
‘’Today, that hard time has been replaced with new chances. This road will enhance social and economic connections, improve emergency response, support agricultural transport, and create more investment opportunities in Jaba Local Government Area,’’ he concluded.
