The Kaduna chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has praised Governor Uba Sani for his efforts to boost the state’s judiciary and enhance justice delivery.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Baba Lawal Aliyu, the association highlighted the extensive renovation of the High Court complex. They said this work will improve the working conditions, mobility, and overall performance of judges.
The NBA also thanked the governor for giving 40 official vehicles to judges of the High Court, Shari’ah Court of Appeal, and Customary Court of Appeal.
They welcomed the restoration of robe allowances for magistrates, including payments for outstanding allowances for 2024 that will happen in 2025.
“These initiatives show that the Government values the judiciary as a key part of upholding the rule of law and delivering justice,” the statement said.
But the NBA called on Governor Sani to extend this support to lower courts. They want official vehicles and better facilities for these courts.
“Magistrates and other judicial officers in lower courts are at the front line of justice delivery. They need proper support to do their jobs well,” the statement said.
The association believes that consistent investment in all levels of the judiciary will improve access to justice, cut down delays, and build public trust in the justice system.
