The Tomorrow Is Here Movement (THM), a key political group in Enugu State, has gathered thousands of voters in Enugu North Senatorial District, known as Nsukka Zone. They are backing the re-election of Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu, along with all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 elections.

The event featured a victory walk that went through many communities in the district. Thousands of local residents and supporters joined in. Political leaders said the zone is increasingly uniting with the APC as the elections approach.

Hon. Martins Ugwu-Amadieze, the Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area, emphasized the zone's dedication to the APC. He stated that Nsukka voters will not be misled by politicians without solid development plans.

The rally, named “Victory Walk for All APC Candidates in Enugu North Senatorial Zone,” started at Opi, Nsukka. It moved through Orba, Obollo-Afor, and Obollo-Eke in Udenu Local Government Area, reaching Ogrute, Enugu-Ezike in Igboeze North, Ibagwa-Aka in Igboeze South, and other areas in Nsukka Local Government Area.

During the event on Monday, Chief Tony Okonkwo, the movement's leader, thanked the crowd for their strong turnout. He noted that they initially expected around 200 people, but many more showed up.

He linked the large crowd to the rising support for Mbah and Tinubu, pointing to progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, farming, and transport.

"We were not ready for this number of people who walked long distances that took hours. Your turnout today shows appreciation for what Governor Peter Mbah and President Bola Tinubu are doing.

"The dual carriageway from 9th Mile through Igbo-Etiti, Nsukka, and Udenu to Benue is a huge investment that will change our communities. Nsukka has also seen its first indigenous Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Professor Simon Ortuanya, after 50 years. Our people are gaining from federal jobs, farming programs, and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

"Under Governor Mbah, we have seen better security, Smart Green Schools in every ward, modern health facilities, and road projects. Over 50 CNG buses are now running from the Nsukka Central Terminal, giving affordable transport and safety for passengers.

"These developments are clear. We are happy that our people are supporting the APC. This good work must go on, and we can only do that by supporting the APC from the Presidency to the House of Assembly," he stated.

Ugwu-Amadieze also urged voters to ignore opposition politicians who might use ethnic and political feelings before the 2027 elections. He stressed that the APC has shown a stronger commitment to the area's growth.

He added that the turn-up at the victory walk showed how residents want to stand with Governor Mbah, President Tinubu, and other APC candidates.

"Today was a victory walk for Governor Peter Mbah, President Bola Tinubu, and all APC candidates in the zone. From what we saw in Nsukka, I can confidently say our people are pleased to stand with Governor Peter Mbah.

"Our zone has chosen the APC. We will not be fooled again by politicians without clear plans for us. Our people have accepted the broom and are ready to vote for all APC candidates.

"When we asked Governor Mbah to help secure the Vice-Chancellorship of the University of Nigeria for a local person and to dualise the road from Penoks to Nsukka, we didn't expect him to exceed our hopes so quickly. This has never happened in our zone's history. The people of Nsukka are ready to show their support through their votes in 2027," he declared.

Dr. Chris Onyekachi, the Chairman of Igboeze North Local Government Area, also expressed his community's backing for the APC. He said the economic changes from the Tinubu administration have improved the financial strength of state and local governments.

He noted that better funding for state and local governments has opened doors for more development projects and infrastructure work at the grassroots level. He encouraged residents to support the ongoing reforms.

Barr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, the Deputy ALGON Chairman and council head of Igboeze South Local Government Area, shared that the achievements of the Mbah administration and local councils show that the APC can deliver growth.

He is confident that the party will win across the district in 2027, assuring that APC candidates will receive strong backing from voters in the area.

Notable guests at the rally included the APC State Secretary, Chukwudi Nnadozie; APC State Financial Secretary, Hon. Ejike Idodo; Deputy Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Ezenta Ezeani; Dan Shere; William Amuta; Hon. Favour Asogwa; and the Deputy Mayors of Udenu and Igboeze South Local Government Areas.
