The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Kano State Command, has arrested 80 suspected drug offenders. They also shut down 16 known drug joints in the state during a week-long operation.
The arrests happened during “Operation Restore Order.” This special operation began on August 10, 2026, to fight drug trafficking and abuse in various communities.
Sadiq Maigatari, the command’s Media and Advocacy Officer, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday.
The operation used a “dislodge-and-occupy” strategy. This approach aimed to break down identified drug hubs and stop them from returning to crime.
The NDLEA team carried out coordinated raids from August 10 to 16. They targeted places known for drug trafficking and abuse.
The statement mentioned areas affected by the operation. These include Filin Mahaha, Koki, Dorayi, Rijiyar Lemo, Charanchi, Kasuwar Kurmi, Zage, Gwammaja, Sauna, Wambai, Yan Ayaba, Indabawa, Bela Village, Farm Centre, Masaka, and Panshekara.
During the raids, various illegal substances and drug-related items were found. These included Cannabis sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, rubber solution, and locally made drugs called “Suck and Die,” along with other narcotics, cutting agents, and packaging materials.
The operatives also seized locally made weapons and tools that were reportedly used in the drug trade.
The statement highlighted that the operation was based on intelligence. It will continue and grow based on new information received.
“This operation is intelligence-led and resolute. The operation will be sustained and expanded as intelligence dictates,” the statement said.
The agency called on residents to stay alert and help by sharing timely and reliable information about drug activities in their areas.
