A former House of Representatives member, Dachung Bagos, has won the All Progressives Congress rerun primary for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency in Plateau State.
Bagos beat Esther Simi Dusu in the election held across 11 wards on Wednesday. This rerun followed a court order.
The High Court in Jos had canceled the earlier primary election due to alleged irregularities in 11 wards. These wards include Du, Shen, Zawan ‘B’, Turu, Fobur ‘A’, Fobur ‘B’, Jarawan Kogi, Maijuju/Doss, Federe, Shere East, and Shere West.
On Thursday, the results were announced at the APC state secretariat, Kalwa House, in Jos. The Chairman of the Rerun Electoral Committee, Simon Elisha, stated that Bagos received 12,181 votes. Dusu came in second with 2,495 votes.

“The rerun was conducted in compliance with the court order and in line with the party’s guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness,” Elisha said.
With this declaration, Bagos, who has previously represented the constituency in the House of Representatives, is now set to represent the APC for the Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.
