Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the successful rescue of the victims kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. He called the operation proof of the President’s strong commitment to fight against crime in the country.
Governor Abiodun said the rescue shows that President Tinubu is serious about securing the victims' freedom and bringing the kidnappers to justice.
He pointed out that capturing some of the kidnappers and neutralizing others during the rescue sends a clear message that Nigeria is becoming less safe for kidnappers, bandits, terrorists, and other violent criminals.
"This operation has shown that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's leadership, there will be no safe place for criminals. It is a clear signal that those involved in kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes will be pursued, caught, or neutralized according to the law," he stated.
Governor Abiodun commended the bravery and skill of the security agencies that made this successful operation happen. He praised the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), local intelligence operatives, and all security personnel for their dedication to keeping Nigerians safe.
He also thanked Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for cooperating with the Federal Government and security agencies during the victims’ time in captivity. He said the teamwork among all parties was key to the successful rescue.
According to Governor Abiodun, this rescue operation strengthens the effectiveness of the security strategies being put in place by the Federal Government, along with state governments and security agencies nationwide.
He encouraged Nigerians to trust the country’s security forces and continue to support their work by sharing important information that can help prevent crime.
Governor Abiodun assured that Ogun State will keep working closely with the Federal Government, neighboring states, and all security agencies to ensure that criminals have no safe space in the Southwest.
He congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, and the leaders of the security agencies, as well as every officer involved in the operation. He believes this success will boost efforts to make Nigeria safer for law-abiding citizens while making life harder for kidnappers, bandits, and other criminals.
