The Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has congratulated Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, on his win in the governorship election held on August 15.
Governor Abiodun called Adeleke’s re-election a sign of the people's choice in Osun State. He said the election showed the strength and determination of Nigeria’s democracy.
He praised the people of Osun State for their peaceful behavior before, during, and after the election. He urged everyone involved to prioritize peace, unity, and development in the state over party politics.
Abiodun also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for being a true democrat. He said Tinubu ensured a fair chance for all political parties and candidates during the election.
According to Governor Abiodun, the President's dedication to democratic values and a free electoral process has boosted trust in Nigeria’s democracy. He pointed out that the ballot box is the key tool for expressing the people's choice.
He congratulated all the candidates who took part in the election, encouraging them and their supporters to accept the results like good sports.
Abiodun wished Adeleke success in his second term and expressed hope that he would collaborate with all stakeholders to improve Osun State.
As the Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Governor Abiodun promised to keep promoting democratic values, good governance, peaceful living, and regional cooperation for the benefit of Southern Nigeria.
