Adeleke Promises Development Funds for Osun State

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is also the Accord Party candidate for governor, has called on voters to support his re-election. He said his government has brought important development to the state.

Adeleke spoke at the Arise Townhall Meeting on Tuesday. He mentioned that he returned to power in 2022 after going back to school. He felt cheated in the 2018 governorship election.
"I was cheated in 2018. I went back to school and returned in 2022," he said.

The governor claimed his administration has focused on development, assuring people that state funds would be used for their benefit.
"Osun State money will stay in Osun," he promised, adding that "more goodies are on the way."

Adeleke pointed out that his government has been working on road construction projects. He noted that many of these roads had been ignored for years before his government took action.
He dismissed claims that the roads built by his administration are of poor quality. He said his team used qualified Nigerian engineers for the projects.

"It is a sin to say that the roads I constructed are substandard. I used professional engineers. I used Nigerian engineers. I supervised their work," he stated.

According to Adeleke, his government has achieved a lot for the people of Osun. He added that residents have recognized the positive effects of these projects.
He accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using false information to undermine his administration.

Adeleke also defended his love for dancing at public events. This has become a notable part of his political style. He said it does not affect his ability to lead.
"Those that can’t dance are jealous of me. In my family, we have music in our blood. Nobody will stop me from dancing. I dance and work. There is time to dance and there is time to work. I will teach them how to work if they want," he said.

He further claimed that the APC is using federal power to scare voters as the election approaches. But he remains confident about winning.
"Dancing is my hobby. In this election, I will be victorious," Adeleke declared.

On the issue of security, the Accord Party candidate said his background in criminology helps him understand security problems in the state.
"I am a security expert. I studied criminology. My aim is to protect my people, and I am doing that," he said.

Adeleke mentioned that his administration has recruited about 1,500 Amotekun personnel. He said the new recruits received training from senior security officials.
He noted that Osun had been mostly peaceful until recently when election activities began. He claimed some people have resorted to threats and violence.

"Osun has been peaceful until recent times, when the election approaches. They started intimidating and killing our people," he alleged.

The governor said he has raised these security issues with relevant authorities. He has also held meetings with security experts to find ways to protect residents before, during, and after the election.
