The Governor of Osun State and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, is not happy with reports coming in from the ongoing governorship election. He claims that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System machines are not working properly and that voters are facing intimidation in some areas of the state.
Adeleke spoke on Osun Radio on Saturday. He said he got complaints that the BIVAS machines were malfunctioning and moving slowly at various polling units.
He also pointed out that thugs are causing trouble in Olorunda and Irewole Local Government Areas. He specifically mentioned a man named Enuku and his group for intimidating residents.
"Right now, there are complaints that BIVAS are not working well. I am not happy at all. The police are aiding the APC. Enuku, the thug, is disturbing people," Adeleke said.
He explained that many voters came out to cast their votes but are facing delays due to the slow accreditation process. "People came out to vote, but the machine is slow. It is not working well. INEC should find a solution. My people are being chased in Ikire. I am still watching them. I don’t know if the police are working for APC. I am still watching," he added.
Adeleke also raised issues about how security personnel are acting in Olorunda. He urged his supporters to stay calm, vote, and guard their votes.
"In Olorunda, they are behaving anyhow. My advice is that my people should vote and defend their votes. Don’t be afraid. It is just for one day," Adeleke said.
