APC Analyzes Osun Election Results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun is looking at the results from Saturday’s governorship election.

This was shared in a statement by Kola Olabisi, the APC Director of Media and Information, on Sunday in Osogbo.

The party said it will look into all legal options to decide its next steps.

"We know that an election is a process that starts with registering voters, goes through the primary election to the main election, and ends at the Tribunal, the Court of Appeal, and finally the Supreme Court.

An election is not over until all legal options allowed by the Electoral Act 2026, as amended, are used to fix any problems spotted during the process.

"We appreciate the loyalty, wisdom, and support of our many members and backers for their efforts in reaching this point in the political history of the state," the statement added.

The APC said its foundation is based on the rule of law, fairness, and justice. It will not hesitate to use the options provided by the current Electoral Act after talking to its lawyers and getting their advice.

The party sees the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) announcement of the governorship election results as a new chapter in the state’s political story. This will not make the party stray from its commitment to the rule of law.

"Because of this, we urge our loyal members and supporters to stay calm while they go about their daily lives. Do not react to any provocation from any members of the ruling party in the state," he stated.

The APC told its members not to lose hope over the current situation, assuring them that "it is not over until it is over."

The party also asked the Nigerian Police Force to step in and protect APC members and supporters who, according to them, are being unfairly treated by members of the ruling party.

"The current situation in the state’s political history is just a phase that will soon be part of history, as justice will be served rightly," the statement concluded.
