APGA Candidate Urges Women to Promote Peace

The All Progressives Grand Alliance candidate for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Prince Chukwudi Oli, also known as “Oba Ezeafia”, has called on women to be ambassadors of peace, unity, and moral values wherever they are.

Oli made this call while speaking to women during their annual “August Meeting” at the Obu Umunri Hall in the Enugu-Ukwu Community, Njikoka Local Government Area, Anambra State.

He joined the women in celebrating their unity, cultural heritage, and ongoing commitment to their community's development.

He said, “Women have a critical role to play in building peaceful families and a stable society. I urge you to champion peace and remain ambassadors of peace, unity, and moral values both at home and wherever you find yourselves.”

“Mothers occupy a strategic position in shaping the character, values, and future of the younger generation. The quality of leadership and citizenship produced by any society is significantly influenced by the values children acquire from their homes.”

“Women are not only the pillars of the family; they are also important agents of peace, unity, and positive transformation in society. The values we teach our children and the examples we set will determine the kind of community and society we build.”

He encouraged the women to use their influence within their families to promote understanding, tolerance, mutual respect, and genuine love. He stressed that peaceful homes are the foundation of a peaceful and progressive community.

Oli further urged the women to lead by example, pointing out that children learn not just from what their parents say but also from their behavior and character at home.

He called on mothers to show honesty, discipline, kindness, respect, responsibility, and love so that their children would grow into responsible citizens and worthy representatives of their families and communities.

Oli also asked the women to resist unnecessary divisions and build solidarity among themselves. He maintained that united women have great power to positively influence families, promote social harmony, and contribute to community development.

“Where women are united, families become stronger; where families are stronger, communities become more peaceful and progressive. I appeal to you to continue supporting each other and to prioritize the collective interest of Enugu-Ukwu over personal differences,” he added.

The gathering was graced by the traditional ruler of Enugu-Ukwu, His Royal Highness, Igwe Ralph Ekpeh.

The traditional ruler praised Oli for connecting with the women and supporting the event. He also thanked Oli for his commitment to the people and his ongoing engagement with the community.
