Singer B-Red, son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, is hopeful about his father's chances in Saturday's governorship election.

He shared his thoughts on Saturday evening after the vote counting began in the state.

On X, B-Red wrote that he could see joy on his father's face as the election went on.

"Sitting with my dad and I can see the joy and happiness on his face …. 4 + 4 = 8 OSUN," B-Red said.

Adeleke is running for re-election under the Accord Party after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.

He is up against strong candidates like Bola Oyebamiji from the All Progressives Congress and Najeem Salaam from the African Democratic Congress.

The election is taking place across the state’s 30 Local Government Areas and 3,763 polling units.

Voting has mostly gone smoothly in many areas, but there have been some reports of problems.

These include issues with BVAS accreditation, claims of voter inducement, and some disruptions at certain locations.

Adeleke had earlier urged security agencies to protect voters, election officials, and collation centres.

He also asked residents to stay peaceful and let the electoral process happen without interference.

B-Red's message comes as the governor and his supporters wait for the results of this closely contested election.
