Bauchi court sends two to jail for stealing clothes and gadgets

The Bauchi State Police say they have secured a conviction for two men. They were arrested for breaking into a house and stealing items like T-shirts, a power bank, and mobile phones in the Bauchi Local Government Area.

According to a statement from the command’s Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, the incident occurred about a month ago.

Habib explained that the arrests followed a report from a resident. The resident said the suspects broke into his house and stole several personal items about a month earlier.

He named the convicts as 28-year-old Iliyasu Musa and Ibrahim Isah, who both live in Baluwa Village.

Habib said the stolen items included four mobile phones, a power bank, two T-shirts, a wristwatch, and N20,000 cash.

“After a thorough investigation and prosecution, the Bauchi State Police have convicted two suspects for criminal conspiracy, trespass, house breaking, and theft in Liman Katagum, Bauchi LGA.”

The PPRO added, “The suspects are Iliyasu Musa, male, and Ibrahim Isah, male, both 28 years old and residents of Baluwa village.”

“The stolen items include one Infinix Hot 10 Play worth N89,000, one keypad Tecno phone worth N15,000, one keypad Itel phone worth N15,000, a cash sum of N20,000, one power bank worth N30,000, two T-shirts worth N28,000, one wristwatch worth N6,000, and one Tecno Android phone worth N50,000.”

“The preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the two suspects. They both confessed to the crime during questioning. They were charged in court and found guilty.”

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, praised the Divisional Police Officer and his team for their hard work that led to the conviction.

He emphasized that the command will ensure that criminals face the full force of the law.
