Ajao Adewale is now the 39th Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa Command.

Adewale took over on Wednesday from Iyamah Edebor. Edebor was recently promoted to Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG).

This information comes from a statement by the command's spokesperson, SP Musa Muhammad, in Yenagoa.

Adewale was previously the Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration at the Force CID Annex in Gombe State.

He also held the position of Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command in Abuja.

Adewale is a skilled police officer with solid experience in police work, administration, and criminal investigations.

"Over his career, he has worked in many commands, formations, and units of the Nigeria Police Force in various roles," Muhammad said.

The command's spokesperson asked the people of Bayelsa to support the new commissioner. This support is important for him to maintain peace and order in the state.
