Beta Glass Plc has named Boye Olusanya as the new chairman of its Board of Directors. This comes after the departure of Vitus Ezinwa.
In a notice on Wednesday, the top glass container maker in West and Central Africa announced that Mr Olusanya's appointment started on 30 July.
The company praised Mr Ezinwa for his contributions and guidance during his time in charge.
“The Board expresses its sincere gratitude for his dedicated service and strategic guidance, which have been instrumental to the Company’s growth. The Board wishes him continued success in his future pursuits,” the company stated.
Mr Olusanya, who is a non-executive director, brings over 25 years of leadership experience across various sectors. These include fast-moving consumer goods, agriculture, telecommunications, technology, energy, infrastructure, and financial services.
He is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer of FMN Holdings Limited. There, he is transforming the food and agro-industrial group into a business focused on consumers.
Mr Olusanya has held senior roles in companies like VMobile, Dancom Technologies, Dangote Industries, 9mobile, and Helios Investment Partners.
He also served as chairman of Axxela Limited. Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and a member of the Presidential Food Systems Coordination Unit.
The company believes that Mr Olusanya’s experience will improve its governance and support its plans for long-term growth.
“The Board expresses full confidence in Mr Boye Olusanya, his leadership, vision, and expertise. They believe that under his guidance, the Company will be directed toward new opportunities, strengthened governance, and sustainable growth,” the company said.
His appointment is seen as a key step in helping the Company reach new heights and provide better value to its shareholders and stakeholders.
