Breaking: US Senator Lindsey Graham has died

A US senator from the Republican Party, Lindsey Graham, has died.

His office made the announcement early on Sunday through a post on his official X account.

“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness…” the office said.

Mr Graham was 71 years old. He was a long-serving senator known for often pushing the US to go to war, especially in conflicts that support Israel. He frequently mentioned that one of his roles as a senator was to defend Israel’s interests.

He was among the senators who strongly backed the recent US and Israel war against Iran.
