Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP Plc), a part of UAC of Nigeria Plc, has appointed Jethro Iruobe as Executive Director, starting from 25 June.
As an executive director, Mr Iruobe will help shape and carry out the company’s strategic goals, CAP Plc said in a regulatory notice on Wednesday.
He will lead key functions and help the company grow and succeed.
Mr Iruobe is currently the Chief Operating Officer, overseeing Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Fleet Management, and Commercial Excellence.
He joined CAP Plc in 2019 as Head of Human Resources before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer.
Mr Iruobe has over 19 years of work experience across different industries, including financial services, consulting, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and manufacturing. He started his career in banking and later moved into human resources.
His HR journey began at KPMG, and he later held senior roles at Promasidor Nigeria, Coca-Cola HBC, and TGI Nigeria, gaining deep knowledge in talent management and people strategy.
He has helped many organizations build strong teams and achieve lasting business growth.
Outside of work, he writes for BusinessDay Newspaper, is a trained relationship counsellor, and co-authored a book. Mr Iruobe has also received various awards in the field of human resources.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin and an MBA from Manchester Business School in the UK.
Mr Iruobe is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute.
In addition, the company has appointed Olutola Bella as Company Secretary, effective 13 July.
He takes over from Aramide Nwokediuko, who resigned from the position on the same date to take on a new executive role within UAC of Nigeria Plc Group.
“The Board congratulates the new appointees and is confident that they will make significant contributions to the continued growth and success of the Company,” the chemical firm stated.
Mr Bella is currently the General Counsel for the company. As both General Counsel and Company Secretary, he will advise the Board and Management on corporate governance.
He will also ensure that the company meets all regulatory, legal, and governance requirements, according to CAP Plc.
Mr Bella has over 18 years of experience as a trusted legal adviser to business leaders and organizations in various sectors.
Before joining CAP Plc, he worked as a Principal Adviser at DealWorks Advisory, a firm that helps growth-focused businesses in Africa.
Previously, he was the Deputy Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for Sub-Saharan Africa at Moove, a fintech company. In those roles, he built and expanded the Legal and Compliance teams and supported the company’s growth into new markets.
Before Moove, Mr Bella was Head of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Legal at Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, where he advised management on risk and governance and led the legal support for the bank’s CIB business.
Mr Bella was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University and the University of Cambridge, respectively.
He is a member of several professional organizations, has attended many leadership programs, and holds executive certifications throughout his career.
