China's Path to Modernisation and Cooperation with Nigeria
China is embarking on a new journey of self-revolution and governance. This aims to strengthen ties with Nigeria and promote shared development.

China is starting a new chapter in its history. It will follow the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. The focus will be on self-revolution and strict governance within the Party. China aims to promote high-quality development, open its markets more, and maintain peace in the world.
Recently, the Fifth Plenary Session of the Communist Party of China took place in Beijing. During this meeting, they reviewed and accepted the Resolution of the Central Committee of the CPC on Certain Major Issues concerning Persevering with Full and Rigorous Party Self-Governance. This resolution gives a clear plan for the Party to continue its strict self-governance.
Through this session, many saw that the Communist Party of China is getting stronger through self-revolution. China's path to development is clearer now. The country is eager to share its governance experience with others and work towards a better future.
To run the country well, the Party must be strong. The success of China is tied to the Party and its governance. Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Party has worked hard on self-governance. It has made major strides in fighting corruption. The Party has shown it can identify problems and make necessary changes. It is the main force behind China's growth and protects the people's interests.
Self-revolution is not just a political idea; it is a real force that drives national progress. By pushing for strong Party self-governance, the CPC has united society. This unity has led to real results in governance and development. China has built the world's largest industrial system. Its manufacturing sector is the biggest globally. More than 400 million people have joined the middle class, absolute poverty has been eliminated, and millions have been lifted out of poverty. These achievements show how self-revolution helps governance and benefits the people.
China does not impose its development model on others. It respects each country's choice of development suited to their needs. China is ready to share governance experiences with political parties and organizations worldwide.
China's growth is linked to the world's prosperity. As the second-largest economy, China has a large market and contributes about 30 percent to global economic growth. The strategies from the Fifth Plenary Session will not only help China's long-term goals but also offer chances for global development. A China that continues to grow will support global supply chains and help the world economy recover.

Currently, many changes are happening worldwide. The challenges in peace, development, security, and governance are growing. Developing countries want to find their own paths to modernization. The CPC's approach to governance through self-revolution has gained international attention. This shows that many recognize China's development path and governance effectiveness.
China does not push its development model on anyone. It respects each country's independent choices and is willing to share governance experiences. China is also working towards global initiatives to tackle worldwide challenges, contributing to building a shared future.
Africa is a continent full of potential and an important partner for China. Through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), China has focused on sincerity and real results. The 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit was successful, where President Xi Jinping announced the “Ten Partnership Actions” for modernization. Starting from May 1 this year, China has offered zero-tariff treatment to all African countries with diplomatic ties, further strengthening its role as Africa's largest trading partner.
Nigeria, being the most populous country in Africa, plays a vital role in the continent's revival. As the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria for over two years, I have seen a strong desire for good governance and stability among Nigerians. Nigeria is pursuing a practical foreign policy, attracting investment, and promoting trade and innovation. This is helping the country strengthen its path to development.
With President Xi Jinping and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's guidance, the China-Nigeria partnership is growing. Both sides are sharing governance experiences and aligning their development plans, benefiting people in both countries.
China is looking forward to the future. The country will follow the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session as it pushes for self-revolution and modernisation. The doors of China will open wider, and the benefits of its development will reach beyond its borders. We look forward to walking together with our friends in Nigeria towards a future of equality and shared growth.
