CPC at 105: A New Era in China-Nigeria Friendship

For 105 years, the CPC has stayed true to its founding mission. For 55 years, China and Nigeria have been good friends and trusted partners. Since 1971, when we established diplomatic relations, our two countries have supported each other through many changes in the international scene.

On July 1, we celebrated the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Under the Party's strong leadership, China has seen rapid economic growth and lasting social stability. In just a few decades, China has transformed like never before in human history. It is now the world's second-largest economy and a major force in global growth. Many international friends often ask what makes China so successful. The main reason is the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

At the start of the 20th century, China faced great struggles. The country was weak, with its people suffering, and the future looked grim. The CPC was founded in 1921 during this tough time. It took on the mission of reviving the nation. Since then, the Party has focused on bringing happiness to the Chinese people and restoring the Chinese nation. United under CPC leadership, the Chinese people have faced many hardships, changed their country's future, and reshaped modern Chinese history.

Over the last 105 years, the CPC has led China through an amazing journey of growth and strength. This has created one of the greatest stories in thousands of years of Chinese history. Today, China is still moving forward with high-quality development. Its modern industrial system is getting more advanced. New industries are growing, and major scientific and technological breakthroughs keep coming. As the 14th Five-Year Plan wraps up and the 15th Five-Year Plan begins, Chinese modernization is picking up speed towards the goals set for 2035.

History has shown that the CPC's leadership is key to China's success in revolution, development, and reform. The Party has guided the Chinese people on a unique path to modernization that differs from the Western model. This challenges the idea that modernization means Westernization. It also gives developing countries more options for their own paths to development and offers practical Chinese experiences for those wanting to grow independently.

China has eliminated extreme poverty, lifting more than 700 million rural residents out of poverty. It has built the world's largest education and social security systems. The enrolment rate for compulsory education is nearly 100 percent. Basic medical insurance covers over 1.3 billion people, and nearly one billion benefit from basic old-age insurance. These improvements help the Chinese people feel more fulfilled, happy, and secure.

The CPC has also kept its energy through self-reform. Its willingness to reform is one of its key strengths. By looking inward, practicing strict self-governance, and fighting corruption, the Party has created a clean political environment and a healthy society. Through this, it has grown stronger and more mature, remaining the core leadership for socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The CPC has consistently pushed for new ideas. On its 105th anniversary, the Party introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building as a major new idea for the era. This thought guides the advancement of Chinese modernization and the goal of national rejuvenation. It draws on lessons from around the world while reflecting on long-term governance challenges, offering a Chinese solution for party building and governance.

With a vision of building a shared future for everyone, the CPC and the Chinese Government have launched initiatives for global development, security, civilization, and governance. They also released a white paper on reforming the global governance system. These efforts provide Chinese wisdom and solutions for the major changes and challenges humanity faces today.

We will deepen discussions on party building and governance, improve strategic communication, and build even stronger political trust.
