Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, known as Davido, will speak to journalists and the public on Wednesday. He will discuss security, the Independent National Electoral Commission's plans, and other matters related to the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The press conference is set for 11am at Imole House, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo. This information was shared in an invitation sent out on Tuesday.
On X, Davido announced the briefing, saying, "I will be having a press conference tomorrow at Imole House, Osogbo, to discuss security, INEC and transparency issues."
Recently, Davido was named Chairman of the Imole Youth Mobilisation Committee for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election campaign. He is expected to talk about worries over security, electoral transparency, and other important matters before Saturday’s Osun governorship election.
The campaign invitation referred to the event as "Davido addresses issues (security, INEC transparency and other major issues) surrounding Osun 2026 gubernatorial election."
Adeleke, from the Accord Party, is aiming for a second term in the August 15 governorship election. Davido, who is the governor’s nephew, has been actively involved in the campaign, leading youth mobilization and taking part in many political events across the state.
