The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has praised Governor Uba Sani for focusing on their welfare and improving healthcare in Kaduna State.

The association said the Governor is committed to bettering the conditions for resident doctors. This includes better pay, improved infrastructure, workforce development, and working conditions.

The doctors shared their appreciation in a statement after their National Executive Council (NEC) meeting. This meeting took place from July 26 to 31, 2026, at the Gombe International Hotel in Gombe State.

The statement also highlighted that Governor Uba Sani has made healthcare delivery better in Kaduna State overall.

The resident doctors also recognized the efforts of the governors of Osun, Kaduna, Oyo, Rivers, and Plateau States. They noted improvements in pay, infrastructure, workforce development, and working conditions for doctors.

Governor Sani has renovated, equipped, and upgraded all 255 Primary Healthcare Centres in Kaduna State to Level 2 status. He has also expanded access to services for mothers, newborns, children, and adolescents. Routine immunization and disease surveillance have been strengthened as well.

The Kaduna State Government is also renewing its secondary healthcare. General Hospitals are getting infrastructure upgrades, new medical equipment has been bought, and diagnostic services have been improved.

The Governor has prioritized hiring healthcare workers across different levels. He has also focused on workforce planning, supported ongoing training, and invested in building skills.

Governor Sani continues to implement the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for doctors and the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) for eligible healthcare workers.

He has also ensured regular funding for the Medical Residency Training Fund. This shows his government’s commitment to training the next generation of specialist doctors. Their skills will help improve healthcare delivery in Kaduna State.
