Nollywood actress and African Action Congress candidate for governor of Abia State, Doris Ogala, has sparked reactions by saying that the people of the state have “no choice” but to accept her as their next governor.
Ogala made this statement during a TikTok Live session, with the clip gaining attention on Sunday.
She confidently announced her victory for the 2027 governorship election while speaking to viewers.
“I, Doris Ogala, as your governor, you don’t have choice. Doris will be your governor, you don’t have choice.
“God has said it, so shall it be. It is very simple, why don’t you get that?” she said.
PUNCH Online reported earlier that Ogala became the AAC governorship candidate for Abia State ahead of the 2027 elections.
After her nomination, she announced her plan to remove the current governor, Alex Otti. She promised to focus on the welfare of Abia residents, create jobs, and boost the economy if elected.
Before she got into politics, Ogala was known for her work in Nollywood. She later became involved in political advocacy with the AAC, taking part in protests and campaigns on issues that affect Abia State.
In June 2026, PUNCH Online also reported that the actress was hospitalized after collapsing during a political meeting in Umuahia.
She was treated at the Federal Medical Centre, where she later met with patients from a wheelchair and prayed with them. This incident sparked mixed reactions on social media.
