Ekiti 2026 Elections: Governor Oyebanji Talks About Voting Issues and Urges Patience

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has shared his hope that the issues faced during voting in some polling units will be fixed. He asked voters to remain patient amid the challenges.

Reports came in earlier that some voters had trouble getting their details captured by the voting machines.

After voting at his polling unit 003 in Oyebanji's compound, RA 06, Ekiti West, on Saturday, Mr Oyebanji spoke with journalists. He mentioned that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) assured him that every voter who showed up would get the chance to vote.

“I want to appeal to our people to be patient, because everyone will vote. I have received assurances from INEC that all those who came out will be allowed to vote,” he stated.

He also shared that the reports he received showed that voter turnout was impressive and that the election process was peaceful.

“The report is positive and voting is going on smoothly,” he said. “The turnout is also very impressive. I am happy that people heeded my call for them to come out en masse to cast their votes.”

The governor, accompanied by his wife, expressed his hope for victory so he can continue his plans for the state’s development.
